Race Meeting Report Thursday 1st July 2021

Thursday afternoon 1st July saw an eight (8) race program conducted on a changeable winter's afternoon, with warm sun at times and drizzling rain at other times. Then for Race 7 and Race 8 heavier rain set in just to soak everyone prior to going home.

The meeting saw local Trainer/Driver Tim Varga score his first winning drive, taking FARRAHFOWLER from his own stable to victory in Race 2 in a Mile Rate of 2:00.4. Tim has had a number of training wins, but this is the first time in 153 drives that he has taken the race win - congratulations to Tim.

The meeting also saw driving doubles to:

• Michael Grima - driving the winners of Races 1 & 3
• Jemma Coney - driving the winners of Races 6 & 8

The day's competition winners were:

THE PUB DRIVE OF THE DAY: was won by JEMMA CONEY driving BRITNEY JANE NZ in Race 8. BRITNEY JANE NZ is owned by Jemma and trained as part of her father Greg's stable here at Paceway Tamworth.
