Thursday afternoon 16th June 2022 saw the conducting of a nine (9) race meeting on a pleasant winter's afternoon, with just a chilly breeze at times to remind us of the season.
The meeting saw Jack Chapple undertaking his first race drives, with 5 engagements on his card. After two (2) thirds, then a 9th and a 6th place in the earlier races on the program, Jack achieved the ultimate with a 1st place in race 9 driving the Ian Mabbott trained TRALEE ROCKS to victory by a margin of 2.4 metres in a credible mile rate of 1:56.9 which was only 1.3 seconds outside the track record for a open class mare over the 1609m distance.
THE COMPETITION WINNERS WERE:
THE PUB DRIVE OF THE DAY: was won by JACK CHAPPLE driving TRALEE ROCKS from the on-site stables of Ian Mabbott in Race 9 the THRC Volunteers Appreciation Pace.
