Race Day Report Sunday 24th January 2021 - Carnival of Cups

Sunday Evening 24th January saw the Carnival of Cups Race Meeting conducted to conclude the Club's 2021 January Golden Guitar Racing Carnival. The nine (9) race program conducted on a hot, dry and still 35 degree summer's evening featured:

  • The 2021 Multiquip (Group 3) GOLDEN GUITAR FINAL which was won by the Geoffrey Harding trained and Robert Morris driven THE CHOREOGRAPHER.
  • The 2021 Garrard's Horse and Hound Tamworth City Cup which was won by the Roy Roots Jnr trained and Tom Ison driven PITCH PERFECT NZ.
  • The 2021 Hygain Star Maker which was won by the Nathan Hurst trained and driven EAGLE COMMANDER.
  • The 2021 Multiquip Golden Guitar Consolation which was won by the Margot Lennox trained and Joshua Gallagher driven MISS CIRIELLO.
  • The Roadwork Industries 1230m Dash for Cash which was won by the Nathan Hurst trained and Angela Hedges driven PEGGYVILLE.
  • The Hazells Farm & Fertilizer Services Local Pace which was won by the Garry Shepherdson trained and Brad Elder driven MONTANA NIGHTS.
  • The Tongue's Transport Tamworth Local Pace which was won by the Brendan James trained and Madi Young driven ZOEMAGIC.

also on the program:

  • The TAB Carnival of Cups Pace which was won by the Caitlyn McElhinney trained and driven TABRA.
  • The KTR Standardbred Stud Pace which was won by the Mitch Chapple trained and driven CHIASSO NZ.

The Competition Winners were:

THE PUB DRIVE OF THE DAY: NATHAN HURST driving 

EAGLE COMMANDER from his own stable in the Star Maker.

HAZELLS FARM AND FERTILIZER SERVICES LOCAL TRAINER AWARD

(a random draw from the local 67 phone area trainers, who have horses engaged in the race meeting, with a time restriction as to when the winning trainer can re-enter subsequent draws)
