MITRHYS MAGIC WIN COMPILED BY JULIE MAUGHAN

It’s Christmas and what do you want – presents of course and Mitrhys Magic certainly delivered that for owners John and Noelene Varga at the Tamworth HRC meeting last Thursday – Christmas Eve.

Mitrhys Magic or "Barry" as he is known around the stables brought the crowd to their feet when the IfIhadyourluck-Scoot On La Belle gelding won the TAB Rewards Xmas Gift Box Pace (1980m).

"I was pretty worried down the back" said reinsman Anthony Varga.

"He has been unlucky in his runs but did all the hard work again today"

Mitrhys Magic had a 1.6 metre win over Major Deed (Stacey Weidemann) and Mister Elegant (Lola Weidemann) 3.7 metres away third.

For part owner John Varga he was trackside to accept the trophy and say "thanks for a great drive" to his son.

"He (Mitrhys Magic) has been trying for a while and has had a bit of bad luck" said John Varga "It was a good drive by Anthony I must say and he has given me an early Christmas present so I am very happy"

Mitrhys Magic had his last win back in July with five starts since then with three placings. The win last Thursday produced the gelding’s 12th win from 43 starts and 22 placings.
