TWO TREBLES AT TAMWORTH

Two winning trebles were recorded at Tamworth on a magnificent winter afternoon Thursday June 19, one by leading Moonbi reinsman Dean Chapple and the other by regular visitors, the Weidemann sisters from Qld.

Chapple's first winner was an all the way win on Kemira Cause (Ifihadyourluck-Cause A Scene) in the TAB Rewards Pace 1609m. The 3yo gelding, trained locally by Ian Mabbott, led from gate two to score in 2.01.1.
Chapple's other two winners were pacers prepared by himself. Artsu (Elsu-Holly Holmes), a 4yo , had little trouble in leading throughout for a 17 1/2m victory in the TAB App. Pace 1609m in 1.59.2. The ex-Kiwi mare has had three Tamworth starts for three wins since crossing the "ditch", but started only $1.80 favourite following a 5th at Newcastle. The third leg of the treble was another 4yo mare Shine On Wicklow (Ifihadyourluck-Sunshine Dreaming). She enjoyed a three wide trail in the Racing Again Sunday Afternoon June 29th Pace 2360m before coming four wide at the 400m to score in a photo-finish. The well supported $5.10 chance made it 6 wins from 15 starts this season to not only earn Dean Chapple The Pub Drive of the Day Award but also give him an almost unassailable lead in the Harness Racing Travelworld Tamworth Drivers' Premiership with 30 victories.

The Weidemann sisters, trainer Julie and driver, Lola, from Clifton near Toowoomba, made their long journey worthwhile with three winners and a couple of placegetters. Their treble began with 5yo gelding Itaintrocketscience (Falcon Seelster-Emms Ok) who led after 650m in the TAB Pace 1609m and held on to score at $17 for Gunnedah owner & his former trainer Sally Torrens. Dancing Cam (Cammibest-Dancing Nukes), a 7yo gelding raced behind the leader before gaining an inside run to win the Eco Inn Warners Bay Pace 1609m in 2.00.6. Their treble was complete when 4yo mare Pepperall (Blissful Hall-Pepper Khan) worked hard to lead and then fought off all challenges to take out the Peter Jackson Bookmaker Pace 2360m at $7.20.

Local trainer Dwayne Brown tasted success with 4yo mare Blucolla Moon (Union Guy-Sinfull Angel) in the Sponsorship Packages Available Pace 1609m. Despite racing without cover throughout, the $1.30 favourite responded to hard driving by Anthony Varga to win narrowly but decisively.

The remaning victory went to Dubbo 2yo colt Remember Kaiser (Major In Art-Lombo Secrets) in the Become A THRC Member Pace 1980m. At just his second race start the Brett Pay trained and Maddison Reynolds driven $13.70 shot led all the way and showed plenty of "ticker" to stave off his older opposition in a rate of 2.03.5.

Tamworth race again Sunday afternoon June 29.
