INJURED TRAINER TONY MISSEN RETURNS TO SEE HE'S OUR BOY WIN

Injured Tamworth trainer Tony Missen had one wish and that was to be released from Hospital for Christmas.

Well the likeable trainer did get his wish – even if it was for the weekend – and he was able to attend the Tamworth HRC meeting - in his wheelchair – to witness one of his team He’s Our Boy take out the opening event.

Driven by Missen’s son Dean Germon He’s Our Boy had a 3.6 metre win over Midnight Montana (Richard Williams) and Royal Luck (Lola Weidemann) a half head away third in taking out the Christmas @ The Tamworth Trots Pace.

"He is watching from the car" added Germon of his father "hopefully that will put a smile on his face"

"I just want to thank him for the drive and for letting us keep the stable going" added Germon.

Sitting in behind race leader Phabulous Philtra (Brendan James) Germon made his race move as Phabulous Philtra drifted out on the final turn to sprint He’s Our Boy (Tinted Cloud – Barefootonbondi) gelding down the home straight.

"It was a pretty good win" added Germon "I was over the moon to get the win for Dad but I have to thank Uncle Peter and Stan – they are doing all the work as I have got a team of my own – I just got the drive so I was the lucky one"

"I thought I had a good chance and it was getting off the fence was the main thing"
